One Year To Go

I realize I have not been the best with frequent updates on book progress. Traditional publishing has been a wild journey with big highs, stressful lows and nonstop work. As a working mom of two under five, so much of my week is striving for balance. With such a time consuming process added to my daily mix, I think social media and blogging has taken a back seat. I plan to change that to the best of my ability!
Contrary to popular belief, finishing your manuscript is just step one of a very long game. Finishing and polishing your first draft is a HUGE accomplishment, but it’s just one stepping stone that leads to publication. So here is a current update on my progress and where we are at with my debut romantasy novel.
I finished my draft and began seeking representation from a literary agent last year. Around the holidays I was able to connect with an awesome agent who believed in my new voice and worked so hard to get my manuscript out to publishers.
In the early months of 2026 I was on submission and come spring, I was entering contract negotiations.
This past April I was finally able to announce my book deal publicly with Blackstone Publishing.
This summer I have been undergoing development edits for my manuscript. Developmental edits help strengthen the story, plot and overall flow of the manuscript. This will most likely continue back and forth with my editor for the next couple months.
I am so grateful to everyone at Blackstone and SBR Media for being a part of my team to make this dream a reality. The work is hard but it is so worth it and come next year, The Bone Dagger will be in print and in readers hands July 2026. Stay tuned!
